Uni-Form v1.3 is Out
Dragan on 24. Aug '08 5
I am happy to announce that Uni-Form version 1.3 is ready to be downloaded by you and implemented in your awesome projects. To this moment it has been downloaded 17231 times and implemented in numerous environments and frameworks, so thanks for your support and interest, I hope you will like this new version.
And you thought this day will never come… :)
Uni-Form is an attempt to standardize form markup (xhtml) and css, “modularize” it, so even people with only basic knowledge of these technologies can get nice looking, well structured, highly customizable, semantic, accessible and usable forms.
So What’s New?
It’s not a big release by any means—contrary to what one may think considering how long it took me, but most of the work is done in the CSS code itself, bulletproofing it and a couple of small features are added. Such as the multifield unit (it has two layouts) that enables you to output those cool little date selectors made up from three select boxes, and so on. Also some work was done with the positioning of the required asterisks, and other little things like that.
One other big thing is that the main site for Uni-Form has officially been moved1 to sprawsm.com from my old (and now defunct) blog in Serbian where it definitely doesn’t belong.
Anything Else?
Well, I don’t want to go ahead of myself here, but there are some cool things cooking in our kitchen involving Uni-Form. Stay tuned!
1 We’re working to get all of the URI-s rewritten so people don’t really notice any differences. We really suck at this server-side stuff, so bear with us. ;)
Update: Redirects sorted, all old URIs now point to correct new ones.

Hi,
This file has a validator.zip in the js directory file which just seems to be a copy of the uni-form code. Not sure if this is intentional.
Also, on the sprawsm.com/uni-form site when i click download i go to the sprawsm main page, and it’s not entirely clear where i go from there to download.
Thanks

Thanks for that observation Kyle. The path of the download link on the Uni-Form home page was relative to the current directory, it was simply a matter of one forward slash, but enough to not work.
Regarding the validator – I didn’t work on that personally, Ilija Studen did and I have obviously included the wrong validator zip in the package. For now I am removing it until I go over it with Ilija and see what’s up.
Thanks for the heads up again Kyle.

Great.
This is something woofoo, jotspot and other big form companies need to be doing. Creating a community project , an open source CSS form that thousands of users can use.
Can you host this project in google code MIT licensed, So that you can focus on the project, rather than doing server stuff.
All the best, please continue the work, we plan on using it in our open source project.
When sizzle from jquery is ready, you guys should look at it.
Thanks
